Termination of services

As announced on 31st July 2020 ipPatrol will cease to operate its monitoring services as of the 31st January 2021. This decision has not been taken lightly but the time has come to focus our efforts elsewhere.

We realise this will mean disruption for all our customers which is why we are giving you six months notice of the closure. During this time all our operations will continue as normal and as they have for the past 18 years.

The last day of operation will be 31st January 2021 with final reports being sent out on the 1st February 2021.

Notifications have been sent to all customer via email, daily/weekly/monthly reports as well as being published on our website, twitter and facebook. This who did not acknowledge receipt of the notification via the control panel have been sent a letter by post.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business particularly those who have been with us since we started in 2002.

We have created a list of questions and answers below which will hopefully address any concerns you may have.

1. What will change between now and 31st Jan 2021.

Nothing will change, the service will be exactly the same, supported and maintained as it has been for the last 18 years.

2. My service expires after 31st Jan 2021, how do I get a refund?

Once you have migrated to another service provider please shutdown the monitoring services on your account and then log a help desk ticket via the control panel to close your account. We will refund any remaining fees pro-rata, so if you have paid for 12 months and there are six months left we will refund 50% of the fees paid.

3. How will the refund be made?

A credit note will be issued and payment returned via one of the following methods.

Payments received by worldpay will be refunded to the card used for payment wherever possible. Where a payment can not be returned by worldpay a refund will be sent by bank transfer.

Payments received by direct debit or bank transfer will be refunded by bank transfer.

If you paid for our service via a reseller/distributor you will need to contact them for a refund who in turn should contact us for a refund.

4. Is it possible to extend the service beyond 31st January 2021?

It will not be possible to extend the service beyond 31st January 2021 under any circumstances.

5. What do I need to do?

By the 31st of January 2021 you need to test and implement a replacement monitoring service and migrate from ipPatrol’s monitoring services to the new service.

6. Can you recommend any replacement monitoring services?

Unfortunately we don’t have any experience of competitor’s products so we can’t recommend any products to you. Hopefully you will have time to evaluate and dual run any alternatives before making a decision over the next six months.

7. How do I remove the reminders about the closure from daily/weekly and monthly reports?

To remove the closure notice on your reports please login to the control panel and acknowledge the message displayed so we know you are aware of the date of closure.
